Privacy policy
What data we keep, why, who we share it with and how you can ask us to correct or delete it.
This policy explains what personal data Viau collects, what it uses it for and what rights you have over it. It applies to the platform, its portals and this site. The data controller is [Legal name], [NIT], with registered address at [address], Colombia, and email [contact email].
We process your data under Colombian Law 1581 of 2012, Decree 1377 of 2013 and the other Colombian data protection rules. If you access from another country, you accept that your data is processed in Colombia and on the servers of the providers listed below.
1. What data we collect
What you give us when you sign up. Name, email, phone number with country code, password (stored with an irreversible hash) and, if you sign in with Google, the email and name Google confirms for us. For a brand, also its name, logo, industry, country and contact details.
Your profile. Photo, headline, bio, specialties, city, links to your networks and what you publish in the feed. For a creative or an agency, the profile is public by design.
Your work. Requests, briefs, deliveries, comments, checklists, reports, calendar and everything you upload to Viau Cloud.
Your money. Your wallet movements, top-ups, withdrawals and coupons. To withdraw, your identity document, your bank certificate, the bank and the account number. The account number and the document are stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM and only leave masked; only the team that approves withdrawals sees the full number, because it needs it to transfer. We do not store card numbers: the payment gateway handles them.
Your connected social accounts. When you connect Instagram, Facebook or TikTok, we store the account’s identifier, name and photo, and the access permission the network hands us, encrypted. Never your password. Also what you publish from Viau and the metrics and comments the network lets us read about those posts.
Technical data. IP address, browser, operating system, language, date and time of each access, and logs of the actions you take on the platform. If you install the app or turn on notifications, your browser’s or device’s notification subscription.
2. What we use it for
- To provide the service: create your account, show your profile, process requests and deliveries, move money and issue receipts.
- To publish on your networks when you or your agency ask for it, and to show you how the published content performs.
- To keep you informed: emails and notifications about requests, deliveries, payments, comments and changes to your account.
- To verify identity and prevent fraud, especially before approving a withdrawal account or a withdrawal.
- To comply with the law: accounting and tax obligations, and requests from authorities.
- To improve Viau, with aggregated data that does not identify you.
We do not sell your data. We do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. Who we share it with
Only with whoever is needed to provide the service, and only what is necessary:
- The other parties to a request. The brand, the agency and the creative of the same request see among themselves what they need to work: name, profile, brief, deliveries and comments. The creative does not see what the brand pays the agency.
- Cloudflare, which hosts Viau Cloud files and the platform’s images.
- The enabled payment gateways, such as Wompi and Stripe, which process top-ups and plan payments under their own policies.
- Meta and TikTok, when you connect your accounts: they receive the content you ask to publish and return metrics and comments to us, under their platform policies.
- Google, if you sign in with your Google account or connect your calendar. And Google Analytics, on this site, only if you accept its cookies (see section 7).
- The email provider that sends our notifications.
- Authorities, when a law or an order requires it.
Some of those providers are outside Colombia. By accepting this policy, you authorize that international transfer, which we make with providers that offer an adequate level of protection.
4. How long we keep it
While you have an account, and afterward for as long as Colombian law requires us to keep accounting and tax records, which today is ten years for the supporting documents of money movements. Social network permissions are deleted when you disconnect the account. Technical logs are kept for at most one year. How to request deletion is on the data deletion page.
5. Your rights
At any time and free of charge, you can:
- Know what data of yours we hold.
- Update and correct what is incomplete or wrong. Most of it you edit yourself from your account.
- Delete what is no longer necessary, with the exceptions the law imposes for accounting records and ongoing obligations.
- Revoke the authorization you gave us, with the same effect.
- Request proof of the authorization you gave us.
- File complaints with the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio if you believe we did not respond as we should.
Write to us at [contact email] with your name, your account email and your request. We answer inquiries within ten business days and claims within fifteen, as the law sets; if we need more time, we tell you before the deadline.
6. How we protect your data
Connections are encrypted. Passwords are stored with an irreversible algorithm. Sensitive data and network permissions are encrypted at rest. The Viau team’s access to administration is controlled by per-module permissions and is logged. We limit login attempts and requests to stop automated attacks. No system is infallible; if we detect an incident affecting your data, we will inform you and, where applicable, the authority.
7. Cookies and local storage
Viau uses the minimum: your session, your language and interface preferences such as the view chosen in an inbox. They are stored in your browser and shared with nobody.
Google Analytics on this site. To learn which pages are useful and which are not, this site (viau.app) uses Google Analytics 4. Its cookies only turn on if you accept in the notice shown on your first visit; if you do not accept, nothing from Google loads. It measures page views, where you came from, your approximate country, your device and clicks on the site’s buttons. We do not use this data for advertising or match it with your Viau account. You can change your choice at any time from “Cookie preferences” in the footer of any page. Google handles this data under its own privacy policy.
8. Minors
Viau is for people over eighteen. If we learned that a minor created an account, we would close it and delete their data.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update it. If the change is significant, we will let you know by email or inside the platform. The date of the current version is at the top of this page.
10. Contact
For any matter about your data: [contact email], or in writing at [address], Colombia.
